    Bringing a dog into your house doesn’t have to average bringing in a ton of noise, according to celebrity dog trainer Joel Silverman. “I am asked periodically if there are breeds that are less noisy, or dogs that do not bark as much. And the answer to that is yes, there are,” he said. Silverman says the quietest dogs are those in the family of dogs known as sighthounds.

    Dr. Carol Osborne, DMV, a nationally recognized veterinarian, says there are also several other breeds of dogs, not concerned to the sighthounds, that also don’t make a lot of noise.
